There are only a few days in your life that you will remember for ever like the day you met, your first Christmas together and most importantly your wedding day. This is a day that you plan down to the smallest detail and you should have this engrained in your memory forever. The problem is however is that the day flies by…. it’s such a whirlwind of a day it’s hard to store every detail into your memory. But it’s not also you that you need to consider.
My parents have married for over 50 years and I am sure that they will never forget the day. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat and wished that they had video back then. To see my mum and dad as young and carefree lovers declaring their love for one another is something that I would do almost anything to see.
Skip forward a generation, I have been married for over 10 years and I still remember it was like yesterday. My three kids are very lucky that they get to watch our wedding video, and to be honest they have watched it more than we we have.
What I am trying to say is that your wedding day is such a unique and beautiful day, you have been waiting for this for so long and finally it’s happening, you’ve planned everything and it’s consumed your life for a period of time…
You want this memory to be as perfect as your day is. Don’t be trapped into the all too familiar story of my Cousin or my Uncle have a decent camera, they will film our ceremony! Like anything in life you get what you pay for. The quality of the picture, the audio and the composition of your film needs to be considered. Some of the tools of our trade are available to consumers, at any Dick Smith or JB HiFi but that doesn’t mean that just anybody knows how to use them. Professional cinematographers have spent hours upon hours of practising and learning to give you the best quality.
So what happens if you don’t hire professional cinematographer?
Well nothing will change on the day and everything will go as you were planning, however you won’t have a living memory of the day to relive on your anniversaries, for your children and grandchildren to watch and your great grandchildren to watch and wonder how we all lived in such uncivilised times.
Do your research. Find a cinematographer that can meet your needs. It’s not a day that you can redo again so do yourself and your children a favour and have a professional capture your day. It will be the one thing that you will not regret
